Clinic Manager / Physiotherapist
B.H.Sc.(Physio), P.G.D H.Sc ( Manip Physio), MNZSP

Derek has been the Clinic Manager for the Wakefield clinic since 2007, and works as a Key Provider to NZ Academy of Sport athletes.  He has had the opportunity to work as a physiotherapist at Commonwealth games, and FIFA Under 20’s World Cup football.  Derek has obtained a post graduate diploma in manipulative therapy, and has an interest in motor control and functional strengthening strategies.

Jessica graduated from AUT in 2003, and completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine in 2006.  Jessica works with the Poneke Premier Rugby Team, and is involved in Wellington Colts, and the Rugby Academy.

Claire works out of our Wakefield clinic.  She has a number of years experience working as a private practice physiotherapist.  She has a special interest in upper limb and shoulder rehabilitation and is currently completing her Diplomia in Sports Medicine.

Joel graduated from Otago University in 2007.  He works at our clinic at Wakefield, and enjoys many sports in his spare time, such as hockey and golf. He has been the team physio for the Wests premier rugby team in 2008, and for the Collegians premier cricket team in 2008/9.

Vocational Services Manager

Michelle graduated from Otago in 1998 with Bachelors of Occupational Therapy, and is working towards a post-graduate qualification in ergonomics.  She has previously worked for 8 years in private practice, providing serious injury assessment and rehabilitation services.  Her areas of interest are vocational rehabilitation and ergonomics.

After graduating Nick started up his own business in Lower Hutt, doing exercise therapy and physical training.  Nick has a special interest in ensuring exercises are performed with correct technique to maximise the benefits for the patient.  Nick has worked with Lower Hutt tennis club, and swimmers in Lower Hutt.

Fran has significant experience in the assessment and treatment of chronic pain disorders and is a valuable member of our clinical team at Wakefield.  Fran has had a lot of experience in assisting our clients understand their symptoms and the steps that can be taken to assist with a range of complications from chronic pain conditions.

Administrator

Donna joined our team in 2004 and is an essential part of our admin team at Wakefield.  Donna provides ongoing accounts administration for the rehab contracts that we hold with ACC, private companies, and third party insurance groups.

Clinic Administrator

Lynne joined the admin team in May 2007.  Lynne brings to the clinic 10 years of experience working in physiotherapy clinics.  She took over administrating the clinic last year, and has competed in national bodybuilding champs.

Receptionist / PA

Pam is a key part of the main reception team at Wakefield.  Pam provides ongoing support to our physio team at Wakefield and she provides Personal Assistant services for Mr Peter Welsh.  When time allows Pam can be found playing golf at the Miramar Golf Clubon for the rehab contracts that we hold with ACC, private companies, and third party insurance groups.

Receptionist

Emma joined the team in 2008 after previously working in Health Administration.  She has quickly fitted in well with the Wakefield providers, and is doing a great job of keeping them all in line.ab contracts that we hold with ACC, private companies, and third party insurance groups.

Receptionist

Angela has joined us on reception in a part-time capacity, so she can enjoy some work life balance.
