Clinic Manager / Physiotherapist

Derek has been the Clinic Manager for the Wakefield clinic since 2007, and works as a Key Provider to NZ Academy of Sport athletes.  He has had the opportunity to work as a physiotherapist at Commonwealth games, and FIFA Under 20’s World Cup football.  Derek has obtained a post graduate diploma in manipulative therapy, and has an interest in motor control and functional strengthening strategies.

Physiotherapist
B.Sc (Hons) Physiotherapy

Wayne is originally from the UK and has been “stuck” in (i.e. in love with) New Zealand since 2004.  He has a specific interest in upper limb and shoulder rehabilitation, and is the Physio for the Oriental Rongotai Rugby club.

Physiotherapist

Sarah graduated from Otago University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Credit.  She has a number of years experience working in sports physiotherapy practices both in New Zealand and Australia.  Sarah has worked with many sports teams over the years and is currently the physiotherapist for OBU Premier Rugby team.  Sarah has a special interest in shoulder and upper limb rehabilitation and is trained in clinical pilates.

Exercise Therapist

Nick graduated from Massey University in 2005 and is currently completing post graduate studies through AUT.  He has a keen interest in exercise rehabilitation, physical conditioning, and wellbeing enhancement through lifestyle modification.  He has experience and enjoys working with injured individuals, sporting athletes, and the general public.

Clinical Psychologist
MA Psych., PG Dip Rehab., NZPS,IASP

Fran has significant experience in the assessment and treatment of chronic pain disorders and is a valuable member of our clinical team at Wakefield.  Fran has had a lot of experience in assisting our clients understand their symptoms and the steps that can be taken to assist with a range of complications from chronic pain conditions.

Clinic Administrator

Lynne joined the admin team in May 2007.  Lynne brings to the clinic 10 years of experience working in physiotherapy clinics.  She took over administrating the clinic last year, and has competed in national bodybuilding champs.

Receptionist / PA

Pam is a key part of the main reception team at Wakefield.  Pam provides ongoing support to our physio team at Wakefield and she provides Personal Assistant services for Mr Peter Welsh.  When time allows Pam can be found playing golf at the Miramar Golf Club.

Receptionist

Emma joined the team in 2008 after previously working in Health Administration.  She has quickly fitted in well with the Wakefield providers, and is doing a great job of keeping them all in line.
