Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

Michelle graduated from Otago in 1998 with Bachelors of Occupational Therapy, and is working towards a post-graduate qualification in ergonomics.  She has previously worked for 8 years in private practice, providing serious injury assessment and rehabilitation services.  Her areas of interest are vocational rehabilitation and ergonomics. Michelle has enrolled on the NIDMAR training course at Otago Polytechnic this year to become a Certified Return to Work Coordinator.

Viv graduated from CIT, Wellington in 1990.  She has extensive experience in a variety of settings including working in the USA for 8 years.  While there she developed skills in the treatment of upper extremity injuries, paediatrics, pre-employment screening and development of education for employers, work hardening and outpatient clinic rehabilitation.  Since returning to New Zealand seven years ago, she has worked in management roles, paediatrics and for the last four years she has been working in private practice providing vocational and social assessment and rehabilitation services.  Most recently she has focused primarily on the provision of vocational rehabilitation contracts.

Occupational Therapist

Louise is a NZ registered Occupational Therapist with ten years experience working in a variety of clinical settings in New Zealand and the UK.  Louise most recently worked in a Condition Management Programme in Wales.  Prior to this Louise worked extensively in mental health, and residential rehabilitation.  Vocational rehabilitation has always been an area of interest for Louise, and she is looking forward to completing her NIDMAR training at Otago Polytechnic this year, to become a Certified Return to Work Coordinator.

Alanna graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 2005 with a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy.  Alanna established her interest in the field of vocational rehabilitation as a Case Manager before moving into clinical work in this area and is undertaking NIDMAR training to become a certified return to work coordinator.  Earlier in her career, Alanna gained extensive experience in the acute hospital setting including paediatrics and continues to utilise this skill base in undertaking Social Rehabilitation assessments.

Dr James Harman is a qualified Occupational Physician who has recently returned to NZ after working overseas for 5 ½ years Shell Petroleum in Brunei. James specializes in providing Fitness for work and Impairment assessments, Health and safety review audits and Health and safety management planning.

Administrator

Donna joined our team in 2004 and is an essential part of our admin team at Wakefield.  Donna provides ongoing accounts administration for the rehab contracts that we hold with ACC, private companies, and third party insurance groups.
