ImageTreatment at the Back Institute is based on each individual's specific requirements. Generally patients are progressed through three stages. Stage one focuses on improved pain control. Once this is achieved clients progress into the final 2 stages with a focus on improved flexibility and strength.

Physiotherapy Treatment

All patients are treated in private individual treatment rooms.  Initial treatment tends to focus on teaching clients independent pain control strategies.  Manual, mechanical and manipulative therapy techniques may help to restore spinal mobility and relieve pain.  Physiotherapists may also use acupuncture, TENS or heat application to assist in pain control.

Individual Exercise Therapy

For a number of patients, exercise therapy is essential to restore normal functional strength following injury.  Our qualified exercise therapists and specialise in restoring normal spinal strength and movement.  Clients can receive one on one treatment in our rehabilitation gymnasium you can progress into one of the exercise classes.

Back Classes

The Back Institute runs a series of exercise and education classes.  Each class includes a progressive exercise plan and an education component, addressing issues such as pain control, lifting technique, return to work issues and home exercise progression
