Activity Based Programmes

TBI Health can provide comprehensive rehabilitation programmes for more complex injuries.  An Activity Based Rehabilitation programme is suitable for an individual who requires an intensive, time limited, period of rehabilitation with a specific aim of a returning someone to their previous job or to increase their function to assist in returning to a new job. Activity based programmes generally take 6 weeks and consist of a combination of physiotherapy, exercise therapy and psychological services.

Activity Based Programme – Work Hardening

A Work Hardening programme is ideal for a client who requires a short period of physical conditioning to achieve their optimal level of vocational function.   Clients tend to have minimal pain and the rehabilitation focuses on a return to their pre injury capacity.  Post surgical clients who require a formalised period of supervised rehabilitation are ideally suited in a work hardening environment.

Activity Based Programme - Standard

Our standard Activity Based rehabilitation programmes are specifically designed for more complex injuries.  Clients are streamed to a number of services depending on their individual requirements.  Our standard programme includes individual physiotherapy sessions, supervised exercise sessions and attendance to both our injury management and pain management education modules.  Clients can exercise safely in a supportive environment to improve their control over their symptoms and achieve their functional return to work goals.

Activity Based Programme –Activity Focused Rehabilitation

The Activity focused programme is specifically designed for clients with an injury that has had an impact on their psychosocial wellbeing.    The AFP includes individual physiotherapy sessions, supervised exercise sessions, individual psychological sessions, and attendance to both our injury management and pain management education modules.  Clients receive extensive education to help them to understand their injury and provide a number of strategies to assist in coping with their symptoms as they progressively increase their activity levels.
