TBI Health can provide an array of educational modules to assist in the prevention and management of injuries in the workplace. The following programmes are currently available from TBI Health:
Manual Handling Education — The Manual Handling Program is usually delivered in a modular series
Module 1 • Injury prevention and management strategies in the workplace • Proper lifting and body mechanics • How to do the job the best way • Lifting assessment
Module 2 — Back Care • Basic spinal anatomy • Common causes of back & neck problems • Preventative exercises for back and neck pain
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Education — The RSI Management Program is usually delivered in a two modular series
Module 1 • Define and understand basic ergonomic concepts • Identify the major factors of ergonomics • Define and explain soft tissue injury • Define and explain RSI • Explain the primary risk factors of RSI The employee's role in ergonomics and injury prevention • Identify the early signs and symptoms of RSI • Identify workplace activities that are currently causing pain or discomfort
Module 2 • Organizing your Work Space • Proper work station set-up • Risk areas & common errors • Basic stress relieving stretches • Environmental factors
Proper Body Mechanics:
• Structures of the spine - basic anatomy • Proper lifting techniques • Doing the job the best way possible • Proper pre & post stretches
Physical Fitness:
• Types of exercises • Components of a balanced exercise program • Benefits of regular exercise • Keeping motivated
