TBI Health regularly run a variety of seminars on issues related to back pain and injury management.  This section will be updated regularly to promote the various courses that are coming up.

Diagnosis and Management of Low Back Pain in General Practice

Saturday 5th May, 8:30am to 12:30pm
Novotel, Auckland

The Back Institute opened the Auckland clinic with an open forum for GPs at the Novotel.  

The principle speaker was internationally recognized guest speaker and founder of the Canadian Back Institute, Dr Hamilton Hall. Dr Hall is an outstanding educator with vast experience in the assessment and management of spinal disorders. The feedback from those that attended was very positive. The seminar highlighted the importance of obtaining an accurate history from a patient who presents with a back injury and introduced some new tips to ensure that the clinician is assess the essential components during the physical exam for back pain.

The Back Institute regularly provides a workshop at the Wakefield GP conference.  Chris Hoffman provided an enlightening presentation on the key predictive factors that can assist in determining if a patient is developing an excessive pain focus.  For more information on this particular subject – check out some of the recent research from The Back Institute team in our Research section.
