Working with TBI has opened lots of opportunities for me to work with a variety of health care professionals and under a variety of different ACC funded contracts. I enjoy being able to work with both local and nationwide staff members. The training courses ran by TBI are a helpful way to learn and network with other staff around the country.

I am privileged to hold my role as Clinic Manager at TBI Health. The support I receive from the regional and service managers, administration, human resource, and head office teams allows me to guide my kaimahi (staff) to provide high quality and innovative mahi (work).
TBI Health encompasses values of whanaungatanga and kotahitanga. These motive me to continue to create a positive team culture which ultimately transfers into an integrated rehabilitation service for our kiritahi (clients).

I’ve worked for TBI Health Nelson/Motueka for nearly 10 years. In that time, I have been able to learn many new clinical skills and develop in areas I’m passionate about. I’ve felt supported by my management team and value the team spirit of the people I work with.

I have had a positive experience at TBI Health. They have fully supported me with a change in career after working here for several years as a Community OT and a Hand therapist. They have provided funding for the course and gave me paid study leave and travel. I’ve been very appreciative of this as its enabled me to stay working at TBI Health and have a change in career direction. TBI Health is really supportive with a strong emphasis on the wellbeing of the person doing the job rather than just the client outcome. There is great support for learning opportunities with the training budget we are allocated. Over the years I have worked for a couple of different rehab companies and find TBI health to be the best.

TBI Health is one of the few private business providers who has managed to maintain a focus on clinical outcomes and staff culture with rapid growth as an organisation. I work with a passionate, caring, and knowledgeable group of people who support one another and put in the mahi to achieve excellent client outcomes. In my work I feel respected and supported in my role as a team leader and enjoy showing up for work and supporting my team. We work hard but have fun doing it.

“I’ve only been at TBI for a short time but so far have been really impressed with how welcoming everyone is. I love working in a small, local clinic, but it’s reassuring to have the resources and experience of a nationwide company behind you.  The support from TBI is great and there’s plenty of opportunities for further training. My small team is lovely and friendly, and they’ve helped me to feel settled really quickly. I’m looking forward to expanding my skills as a therapist in some new areas with TBI behind me.”

TBI Health has been the first employee that has prioritised my orangatanga (health) and wellbeing to ensure I’m able to fulfil my role as an occupational therapist and enjoy the mahi (work) too. There are plenty of opportunities to grow professionally under a variety of contracts and with TBI sites all over the country. I really appreciate the hauora (holistic) approach that TBI have to ensuring a work/life balance, plus it’s always a bonus to work with some fabulous colleagues.

“I really enjoy and value the variety of work particularly in the vocational rehab and hospital and community spaces. It’s a privilege to work with vulnerable clients from all walks of life, have an impact in their rehab journey and seeing clients engage in activities of daily tasks important to them. This brings a smile to my face and knowing I’ve done a good job. TBI Health has a fantastic network of OTs nationwide with a broad range of skillset and experience.”

“I have been a part of the TBI Health Whanau for over two years as an Exercise Therapist. Professionally, I have had the opportunity to grow as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and feel a strong sense of whanaungatanga within the company. As well as my clinical role, I also have the pleasure of engaging in both the ‘TBI Health Hauora Connect Team’ and the ‘National Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team’. TBI Health provides extensive opportunities for career development as well as engagement in additional roles I am passionate about. I am proud to work for TBI Health; supporting the wider community on their rehabilitation journeys in clinic locations throughout the region, residential care facilities, telehealth services, hydrotherapy centres or within their own home.”

I am a clinical psychologist working with the telehealth team at TBI Health. From day one, I have found my team and company culture a warm and welcoming place to be. TBI has been generous with their training opportunities and orientation into the role. I feel that I have a voice, individuals are respected, and their needs considered. I feel more connected to my team and supported by colleagues across the MDT even while working from home. Among my colleagues it is evident that they offer great flexibility with work hours. My manager is open and approachable both to ensure my needs and in turn the company needs are met. I am part of a very diverse and multicultural workplace, where cultural diversity is embraced, and cultural support is available. TBI offers opportunities for staff to work around New Zealand as there are nationwide clinics and community-based services. As a Clinical Psychologist working for a TBI, I work with a wide variety of clients under a range of different contracts. Historically I have worked for a range of employers across NZ and would recommend TBI as a positive work environment.
