Training for Independence contracts held by TBI Health 

1. Training for Independence Advisory Services

a) Short Term

Up to 6 hours of rehabilitation input over a maximum of 8 weeks. Useful for clients with less complex injuries who only need rehabilitation input from one type of rehabilitation professional.

b) Wellbeing Advisory Service

Up to 14 hours of input over up to 12 months. Useful for clients who need intermittent oversight, monitoring or supervision to maintain confidence and gains made in a previous rehabilitation programme.

2. Training for Independence Programmes:

Rehabilitation programmes completed in the community, which are designed to improve your clients’ level of independent function, their confidence and participation in everyday activities

and to reduce the risk of them sustaining further injuries. The type and number of rehabiltation hours provided is tailored to each individual client’s needs and goals.

a) TI for Adults with Traumatic Brain Injuries

Up to 6 months of interdisciplinary rehabilitation for adults with traumatic brain injuries

b) TI for Adults with Other Injuries

Up to 3 months of interdisciplinary rehabilitation for adults with other injury types (e.g. fractures, sprains and strains)

c) TI for Adults with Sensitive Claims:

Up to 6 months of interdisciplinary rehabilitation for adults with sensitive claims.

d) TI for Children and Young People

An interdisciplinary rehabilitation programme for those under 18 years, or those between 18-21 years and still at school at the time of receiving services. Programme duration can be up to 3 months for clients with non-serious injuries (e.g. fractures) or 6 months for young clients with serious and/or long term injuries (e.g. traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, etc).
