Patients in the Nelson-Marlborough region who have been experiencing ongoing back pain may be able to get assistance from TBI Health’s back pain programme, which provides all the tools to help manage their pain. With a focus on education and self-management, patients work through a series of sessions. A long-term exercise plan is also put in place, to help people stay active and keep on top of any pain in the future.

How long is the back pain programme and how much does it cost?

The programme runs for approximately 10 weeks and the service is provided by a team of health professionals including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Exercise Therapists. On completion of the programme, patients are helped to integrate into support services that are currently available within the community.
